Good Evening Emerson Families,
Here we are in DECEMBER! This is going to be a quick and busy three weeks of important learning as we end our first semester. It is important to talk at home about focusing on the characteristics of good scholarship.
⭐️PBIS/StarBucks⭐️
As Scholars, Emerson STARS should strive to develop a strong curiosity, a love of learning, active engagement in class, asking thoughtful questions, taking responsibility for their work, being organized, demonstrating good listening skills, and showing a willingness to try new things and persevere through challenges. These are going to be our goals for PBIS/Starbucks during these next three weeks.
We hope to earn 800 StarBucks each week for a special reward on December 20th.

We had a very busy week last week and this week will be very short! Last week we had assemblies and our Time Travel Program. We also did a great job as a school donating items for BTAC. Thank you so very much for your generosity. We hope that you have a very special time with family and friends in the upcoming days. ♥️

We hope you have had a lovely weekend. It's hard to believe that we are more than halfway through November and we are rolling towards our fall and winter holidays!
Here are our updates for this week:
PBIS/StarBucks Goal
We have seen a lot of growth from our Stars in working together. Our goal for this week will continue to capitalize on this momentum. We will focus on succeeding together and understanding how to be respectful of our learning spaces.
We are working towards earning 1000 StarBucks.
PTA/FC Meeting
We will be holding our PTA/FC meeting in the auditorium Thursday, Nov.21 at 6:30. Light snacks and child care will be available.

We will have a PUPIL free day tomorrow. This is a week provides a great opportunity to meet with your Star's teacher to find out about their successes and future learning goals.
We will have a pupil free day on Monday.

Student costumes should be school appropriate.
No bloody or gory costumes.
Please leave costume weapons at home.
Masks and accessories can be brought to school and
put on for the parade.
Parade will be held ON OUR GRASS FIELD
FAMILIES ENTER AT KENNETH AND UPPER SAN JOSE GATESNO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE

Families may check-out their children with their teacher after the event.
⭐️PBIS/StarBucks Updates⭐️
We have noticed that many students are really beginning to understand what is means to be an Emerson Star. WELL DONE! We are continuing to focus on kindness, empathy, and effort in the classroom. We know that school can be hard work and this week we will be rewarding students for really trying with full effort in class and around campus. We hope that you also encourage your Stars to make the most of all their opportunities at school to learn and grow.

Candy should not be part of your child's school snack/lunch. Our Board of Education wellness policy encourages healthy snack and lunch choices.
🌼DIA DE LOS MUERTOS OFRENDA🌼
You are invited to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos with us. The Emerson classrooms will have the opportunity to walk through our Emerson Dia De Los Muertos Ofrenda on Wed., 10/30 and Friday, 11/1. We need volunteers to sign up to help monitor these classroom walkthrough viewings. Please see the link HERE to volunteer to sign up during these classroom walkthroughs.
🎁CHARLESTON WRAP CATALOG FUNDRAISER🎁
This Friday, November 1st, is the beginning of our annual Charleston Wrap catalog fundraiser. Forms were sent home in your child's Thursday folders. There is only a two week window of time to order wrapping paper and other wonderful holiday gifts. The proceeds will go to our Fundraising Committee and will help fund activities like dance workshops, choir, field trips, and much more. This is a wonderful way to support our Emerson community.

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life. ⭐️PBIS/STARBUCKS Goals
Last week I visited almost all classrooms to remind students of some Emerson expectations. We would love for all of our adult family members to discuss with students the importance of kindness and responsibiity at school. Our Emerson family is 550+ students and it is important to a peaceful and productive community for students to treat each other and the adults who take care of them with kindness.
This week we will focus on kindness and good sportmanship and hope to earn 1000 StarBucks.
⭐️SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL
School Site Council will be held Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:00pm online. The agenda will go out tomorrow. All voting member must attend.
