⭐️EMERSON WEEKLY FAMILY UPDATE⭐️
Hello Emerson Families!
We are thrilled to welcome you "Back-to-School!" A special welcome to all of our new Stars! This is a very special school and we can't wait until you are part of our Emerson Family! I will write, call, and Dojo every week with updates. Please note that this week I will send out another message with reminders on specific first day information Wednesday night.
🍎FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!🍎
Our first day back is Thursday, August 13th.
School starts at 8:30am. This means that students should be inside the gate BEFORE 8:30.
The first day of school we invite parents to line-up with their Stars on the playground to meet the teachers. Parking is tricky at Emerson please be prepared to park a couple of blocks away and walk.
Our bell schedule is:
TK-K 8:30-1:30
Gr. 1-2 8:30-2:25
Gr. 4-5 8:30-2:45
We will send out DETAILED drop-off and pick-up information on Wednesday night for all grades.
🖍️TK-Kinder Welcome Tea!🖍️
All TK and Kinder Stars and thier families are invited for a sneak peek of their classroom and to meet their teachers on WEDNESDAY, Aug. 12th at 10:00am.
Please enter through the gate next to the auditorium. Please look for the signs.
⭐️Calling all 5th Grade Stars⭐️
We are looking for 5th Grade students to join Star Squad for the 26/7 school year.
Star Squad is about mentoring and guiding younger students and taking care of our school's physical environment. The fancy word for this is Stewardship. If you are interested in doing this you have to meet the following criteria:
⭐️Email me, Mrs. AJ, jenniferalmer@burbankusd.org, a well written letter about why you would like to do this.
⭐️Be able to come to a training session on 8/12 from 1-2:30
⭐️Be able to come to school at 8:00 am on the first day of school 8/13.
⭐️Have mostly Cs in Citizenship on your last report card.
I will only be able to accept the first 20 students to meet the criteria for our Squad at this time.🖍️
🍎🥐Emerson Welcome Back Staff Breakfast🍩🍎
Our Emerson Welcome Back Staff breakfast is happening this Friday, 8/14. We would love your help in welcoming our amazing Emerson teachers and staff back to school! We will be setting up a lovely breakfast and need donations and items to help make this event special! 💙🍽️Emerson Lunch Volunteer Helpers🍽️💙
We are in need of snack and lunch time volunteers this week, starting the first day of school on Thursday, 8/13 through Tuesday, 8/18. Some of our Emerson kids and students may need help figuring out the routine for snack and lunch time. We can help make things a bit more comfortable and guide them through the process, helping them through the line, and provide their school lunch number to enter in the system for snack and lunch. 🎭🎶 Join us for Emerson's Fall Musical Auditions for
The Addams Family Musical: Young@Part!🎭🎶
When you're an Addams... you get to act a little kooky! Whether you're a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage, we want YOU to be part of this spooktacular show!
Auditions are Tuesday, August 18th from 3-5pm in the auditorium. All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students interested in performing MUST attend this audition.
Anyone interested in a speaking role will also need to attend auditions on Wednesday, August 19th from 3-5pm in the auditorium.
